Why have you decided to stop selling products on TarGard.com? Is TarGard having financial issues?

Our company remains financially sound, but rising supply costs, increasing shipping fees, and growing competition are forcing us to make significant changes. For the past 60+ years, we’ve worked hard to offer TarGard products to consumers just like you at affordable prices. Given our rapidly changing business climate, we are unable to continue selling and shipping our filter products out of our small facility in Traverse City, MI. 

Right now, we’re hard at work ensuring that you can still order your favorite TarGard products online in 2025 – at similar or slightly BETTER prices than you pay today – via Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, and/or eBay.com.  

Please be aware that when we cease shipping online orders out of our warehouse in Michigan on 1/7/25, we will no longer have the staffing, systems, or facilities required to fulfill orders that we receive via phone or mail.  We recognize that this will be a big change for some of you – and for that, we sincerely apologize.

I am a long-time TarGard mail-order customer. Why won’t I be able to purchase my TarGard orders via mail-order starting on 1/8/2025?

Due to rapidly rising costs and dropping profitability, we will be forced to shut down our direct shipping facilities and processes in early 2025. This change will eliminate our ability to process direct customer orders of ALL KINDS – whether they come to us via TarGard.com, our phone system, and/or through the mail. We recognize that this will have a major impact on some of you and we sincerely apologize. As much as we would love to keep supporting our remaining mail order and phone order customers as we have for the past several decades, starting early 2025 we will simply not have the people, equipment, or systems in place to do so.

How can I purchase TarGard products online?

You can still order your TarGard directly on TarGard,com until 1/7/25. Starting 1/8/25, there will be three ways to purchase TarGard products online and have them shipped directly to your home: Amazon.com, Amazon.ca (*Amazon’s Canadian marketplace), and eBay.com.

Are the TarGard products I buy on Amazon.com or eBay.com still the same great TarGard products I know and love?

Identifying legitimate TarGard products on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca is easy. Simply make sure that our TarGard logo (*shown below) is prominently displayed on the hero product image, and that the Brand listed on the Product Listing Page says,  Brand: Tar Gard.

Identifying legitimate TarGard products on eBay is easy, too. If the listing is made by VenturiSlipX , you are getting authentic, quality TarGard products. We do not authorize any resellers on eBay.com, be warned, that unless you see this seller on the listing, your purchase may not be an authentic TarGard branded product.

What should I do if I need to return a product that I purchased previously on TarGard.com?

Products previously purchased on TarGard.com will continue to be supported by our friendly, accessible, US-based Customer Care team. For questions about returns, exchanges, or other order-related questions, please reach out to us directly at customercare@TarGard.com. We’re here to help!

I currently have a TarGard.com online account. What will happen to my Customer Information?

In order to continue to provide excellent customer care, we have retained order-specific data from previous site purchases so that we can assist customers like you with returns, exchanges, and questions about older orders.  If you would like to request that ALL information about you be destroyed – including past order details — simply reach out to us at customercare@TarGard.com and we will work with you to eliminate all of your Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
